A Seamless Flow of Spaces for the Modern Family

GF55 provided complete architectural and interior design services, overhauling the entire house from initial design to fabric choices. The goal was to create a more grown-up and more polished home using a modern and sophisticated palette without sacrificing any comfort. The vision was to use natural elements such as maple, cherry, granite and slate, as well as rich and visually soft materials for the furnishings. The floor is dark green limestone with a low-sheen having an earthy character. The spaces seamlessly flow into each other which made it important to have design consistency. There was careful consideration in choosing furniture with clean-lines and rectilinear shapes, with seating wrapped in leather and suede with delicate tailoring. Lighting, fixtures and paint colors working together were essential in creating a contemporary but comfortable home. Lange House won Westchester Magazine’s first ever HOME Awards First Place Great Room and First Place Kitchen/Cover.
