David E. Gross, AIA is a founding partner of GF55 Partners. He leads the firm in Design and Project Development. His work includes school and religious buildings, custom high-end luxury residences and interiors, urban apartment buildings and retail design programs. Gross has been the Partner-in-Charge for the SSDS School, the JCCS renovation, the Madison Court Midrise and Townhouses, several published and award winning private residences as well as retail projects such as Jantzen, Perry Ellis and the Greg Norman Collection.
At Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates, Gross was Project Designer on the Virginia Museum of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and Best Products Corporate Headquarters Phase II. He was a Finalist in the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Competition in Washington DC.
David E. Gross, AIA graduated Cum Laude with Distinction from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in 1977 and a Master of Arch. in 1980. At graduate school, he was a Thesis Prize Nominee, a Stewardson Memorial Competition Representative, and an annual Exhibitor in the Student Art Show.
David E. Gross, AIA is on the Board of Directors of the New York State Association of Affordable Housing. He has been a visiting design juror at Yale University, New Jersey Institute of Technology and the Pratt Institute and has lectured at the NYU Real Estate Institute. Gross is Vice President of American ORT. He was the 1997 recipient of the Paul Bernick Leadership Award from American ORT and received the 1997 Service Award from the Real Estate and Construction Industry Chapter of American ORT. He is the past President of the School Board of the JCCH and is a member of the Board of Trustees. Gross serves on the Housing Committee of the AIA, the Rye Architectural Review Board, and Rye Center for the Arts Board. He has published articles in New York Real Estate Journal, Suncoast Magazine and Avenue Magazine and is a member of the Architectural League of New York, the Historical Society of Rye, NY, the AIA and the Penn Club. He is a registered Architect in New York, Ohio, Connecticut, New Jersey, Tennessee and Florida and holds a certificate from the NCARB.
