Located in Brooklyn, New York, 149 Kent was designed with an understated modern aesthetic that seamlessly integrates with the visual character of the historic Williamsburg neighborhood. Rows of low-rise Federal and Greek Revival brick townhouses characterize the neighborhood while 19th century warehouses punctuate the waterfront community.
149 Kent is a 255,000 SF mixed-use building with 250 residential units and commercial space on the ground floor. The 7-story building shares a roof line with neighboring buildings. The façade is finished with red brick in a simple pattern that emphasizes a utilitarian grid of large windows. The windows are framed with black metal panels and separated by metal louvres. Vertical metal panels frame retail window walls on the ground floor. The modern metal details echo cast iron elements found on industrial warehouses surrounding 149 Kent.
Amenities include a gym, outdoor sports area, shared office facility, theater, culinary center, and an outdoor courtyard. The courtyard and the main lobby double as gallery space for local artists.
