263 East 203rd Street, currently under construction, will be a six-story girls preparatory school in the Bronx. The 89,978 SF Girls Prep Bronx II will serve students K-8. The project is a rezoned combination of several adjacent lots. This rezoning sets the foundation for a strong horizontal presence on 203rd Street. The façade’s cadenced grid of large windows is framed by dark ironspot brick. The main stairwell of the school is situated behind a recessed glazing façade that breaks up the length of the building and allows natural light into the interior volumes.
