A Bridge to Historic Harlem

Abyssinian West and The Rennie are adjacent projects located in Central Harlem.

A new construction 5-story building, Abyssinian West is an expansion to the Abyssinian Baptist Church, an historic African American church designated an official city landmark by New York City’s Landmarks Preservation Commission. The new building provides the Church a Fellowship Hall, offices, multipurpose classrooms, and a commercial kitchen.

The Rennie sits across from Harlem’s historic Strivers Row and is an 8-story mixed-use multifamily building that sits where the old Harlem Renaissance Ballroom Theatre Building once stood. Surrounded by classic brownstones, The Rennie was designed to share an architectural language with its immediate neighborhood. Located between The Rennie and the historic Church, Abyssinian West was designed as a bridge between the historic and the modern.
